A Bit About Me

As a neurodivergent, trauma-informed, LGBTQ+ therapist, Sarah offers specialization in the treatment of these demographics as well as any other minority who is struggling to navigate the current state of the world. They offer a relaxed, calm space to encourage healing, identity development, and trust within yourself. Sarah is there to help you find your confidence, sense of self, and strength. They are also trained and experienced in writing hormone and/or surgery referral letters for transgender/gender non-conforming clients.

Sarah is also passionate about supporting those who experience chronic illness and/or pain, disabilities, trauma, victims of domestic violence, and racial injustice. They understand that experiencing the world in a way that differs from the norm requires a unique approach to counseling and healing. Sarah has an understanding of lived experiences on these topics and continues to implement research in order to stay up to date on the most effective treatments. They utilize a client-led, collaborative, and relational approach to therapy; they are sex-positive, kink allied, and affirm non-monogamous relationships.

Sarah is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the states of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. They also have their Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor license for Illinois. They are trained in EMDR and received their Certified Clinical Trauma Professional Level 2 (CCTP-II) credential. Sarah utilizes various techniques and modalities such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).

Sarah received a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Illinois State University and a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Bradley University. While in graduate school, they worked for the Early Intervention program, which provided them a strong understanding of early childhood development and support that children may need.

When not in session, you can find Sarah playing video games, hanging out with their cat Tombo, or spending time with friends and their partner. They recently moved to the Philadelphia, PA area from Chicagoland and are always open to local restaurant or coffee shop recommendations!
